GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Dr. Paul John "Jack" Parsons

High School: Attended Pueblo Centennial H.S., graduating in 1947...Was an all-around athlete for the Bulldogs, playing four years of basketball (guard) and track from 1944-47, and three seasons (1943-46) of football as a halfback...Paul was voted the Outstanding football player award in Centennial's game against Central in 1946...He is the Bulldogs record point holder in football with 144 points.

College: Jack went to the following colleges to further his education: Cornell University, New York, 1948: Parsons was given a four-year football scholarship in 1947...Pueblo Junior College (PJC), Pueblo, CO earning an A.A. Degree in 1949...Played football (halfback) for two seasons from 1947-48 and guard on the basketball team for two years (1948-49)...University of Denver, Denver, CO, graduating in 1951: Jack was a halfback on the Pioneers football team for two years (1949-50).

Advanced Education: Parsons continued his post-graduate studies at Western State College in Gunnison, CO, earning a M.A. degree in 1966 and a Ph.D from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO in 1970.

Coaching Background: Parsons spent four years as the head football coach at Pueblo Catholic H.S. (1955-58), posting a 30-10-3 record with the Shamrocks...His teams won two state championships (1955, 1957) and tied for the state title in 1958.    

Contributor: Spent 11 years (1959-69) working as a football and basketball official.            

Administration: Parsons worked at Southern Colorado State College (SCSC) as the Director of Admissions, Dean of Student Affairs and Vice President for Administrative Affairs when it was called the University of Southern Colorado (formerly SCSC)...He also served as the Vice President for Administration at Sinclair Community College located in Dayton, Ohio.     

Private Business: Parson was a Broker and Manger on the Real Estate business.
Occupation: Parsons was a Teacher/Coach and Administrator at Southern Colorado State College (Now CSU-Pueblo).

Personal:  Lived in Pueblo, CO with his wife, Joan... Passed away on December 22, 2012 at age 83.
