Sam Dazzio
Sam DazzioHigh School: Attended Pueblo Centennial H.S., graduating in 1953.. Was a four-sport star athlete for the Bulldogs earning 12 varsity letters... Dazzio competed in track, as a quarter mile runner (four years: 1950-53); football, playing fullback (three years: 1950-52), and earning all state honors in 1952; Baseball, starting in the outfield (three years: 1951-53) and basketball as a guard for two seasons (1952-53).
College: Went to Pueblo Junior College (PJC) for two years (1956-57) playing football (defense)... Transferred to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, where he played two more seasons (1958-59) of football for the Mountaineers on defense before graduating in 1960.
Coaching Career: Spent entire 10 years coaching at Centennial H.S., five years each as an assistant on the baseball team (1966-71) and an assistant on the Bulldogs football squad (1965-70)...Dazzio also served four seasons (1961-64) as the school's head cross country coach.
Achievements: Named to the Centennial Hall of Fame in 1975... Earned entry into the Centennial Distinguished Citizens Hall of Fame in 1993.

Personal: Lives in Pueblo with his wife, Barbara (Giordano)... Dazzio passed away on Oct. 2, 2021
