Spent 15 years (1979-94) as the head wrestling and assistant football coach at his Alma mater, Pueblo Central H.S.
● One of the few coaches in Colorado whose record includes over 100 wins in dual matches.
● In 1993, the wrestling team went undefeated in both dual matches and tournaments, including the 5A State Tournament where they won the first state wresting title for the city of Pueblo.
● Named Colorado wrestling "Coach-of-the-Year" in 1993.
● Selected Head Coach for the Blue Team (South) at the All-State Team Tournament.
● During the last five years of coaching ended undefeated in dual matches with a 39-0 record.
● Recorded 109 wins, 10 losses and one tie as head wrestling coach at Pueblo Central H.S.
Administration:
Serves as the principal of Risley Middle School where he is actively involved in academic and sport activities for students at risk...Has also worked as an assistant principal at both Pueblo Centennial and Central H.S...Worked for three years (2009-11) as the Pueblo City Schools Athletic Director.
Achievements/Honors:
● Served as the chairperson for the Search and Screen Committee, Director of Athletics, School District #60.
● Worked as the middle school wrestling coordinator and he gave his time and expertise so middle school athletes will have more opportunities during the short season.
● Member of the Pueblo Association of School Executives.
● Continues to be actively involved in the sport of wrestling as his son wrestled for Roncalli Middle School.
