● Only player from the United States Team to be named to the "All-World Team" for 1982.
● Holds All-Time UNC career records for: 2nd in batting average (.393), runs scored (168) and runs batted in (150) and Third in at-bats (547)
● Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1979 and the Cincinnati Reds in 1983.

● Third year played for single A in Tampa, Florida...Named Cincinnati Reds Single A "Player of the Year"...Finished second on team in home runs (32) and third on team in triples (11).
● During fourth year, he played for Double A Champions from Burlington, VT...Led team in total bases (371) and fourth in slugging percentage (.678).
● Spent the fifth year in Triple A optioned to Mexico.
