Atteneded Pueblo East, graduating in 1979...Four year letterman (1976-79) in both basketball (guard) and baseball (shortstop/pitcher)...Lettered twice each playing football (quarterback) and golf for the Eagles (1977-78).

College:
Went to the University of Northern Colorado, graduating in 1983.

Achievements:
College:
● Earned four-year letter (1979-83) for playing third base and in the outfield on the Bears baseball team.
● Junior year hit .441 & was 3rd Team All-American.
● Chosen to the USA Team that went to Korea for the World Championships.
● Only player from the United States Team to be named to the "All-World Team" for 1982.
● Holds All-Time UNC career records for: 2nd in batting average (.393), runs scored (168) and runs batted in (150) and Third in at-bats (547)
● Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1979 and the Cincinnati Reds in 1983.

Professional Career:
Played five years in the Minor Leagues.

Baseball:
● Led team in hits (215) in first year at Eugene, OR while finishing second in league in hitting (.326).
● Finished second in doubles (38) in second year at Single A - Cedar Rapids, IA...Named to All-Star team playing left field.
● Third year played for single A in Tampa, Florida...Named Cincinnati Reds Single A "Player of the Year"...Finished second on team in home runs (32) and third on team in triples (11).
● During fourth year, he played for Double A Champions from Burlington, VT...Led team in total bases (371) and fourth in slugging percentage (.678).
● Spent the fifth year in Triple A optioned to Mexico.

Lives in Littleton, Colorado with his wife, Christine.
