John Thomas Lane

John Thomas LaneJohn Thomas LaneHigh School: John enjoyed a decorated prep career playing as a fullback on the Pueblo Catholic High School football team (1954-57)...He was a three-year letterman and member of the Parochial State Football Champions in 1956...He scored all 13 points in the championship game win over Regis (13-6).

College: Lane went on to play football at Marquette University (1957-60) where he received a degree in mechanical engineering.

- Awarded the Roberta Riley Memorial Trophy (Most Valuable Player) in 1956
- Awarded the Eno Fraterelli Trophy for the Most Popular Player
- Selected to the All-Southern Colorado Parochial League Team (1956)
- Selected to the Colorado All-State Football Team (1957)
- Awarded the Meritorious Athletic Award (1957)
- Offered Scholarships to attend Marquette University, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Notre Dame, Kansas University, University of Wisconsin and the University of Michigan.
- Played on one of the first inter-racial teams during the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement.

- Pueblo Sanitation Board Member (2011-2018)
- VEBA Board (2010-2018)
- Pueblo Model Railroading Club (2012-2018)
- Youth Coach for 20+ years

Personal: John was born in Pueblo, CO in 1939...He lived for 78 years in Pueblo and was married to Margaret Ann Lane. John passed away in February 2018.
