John C. Lenhart, Jr.

Attended Pueblo South H.S.

Coaching Career:
● Begin coaching career at Pitts Junior H.S., in 1969 where he served as the head coach of the track team and an assistant in basketball and football for three seasons until 1972.
● Moved to his Alma Mater (Pueblo South H.S.) in the fall of 1972 where he served as an assistant coach in football.
● Also an assistant on the track team for 11 years (until 1983) when he took over the Colts track program.

● South High has been City Champions in boys track for 21 of the 22 years he coached them and District Champs in eight of those 10 years.
● The Colts won back-to-back state track and field championships in 1992 and 1993 while finishing runner-up in 1988.

● Colorado Track Coaches Association (CTCA) "Coach of the Year" in 1992 in the 5A Boys Track.
● Was a guest speaker at the 1992 CTCA Track Clinic.
● Proposed a new scoring system for the State Track Meet that will probably be adopted and used starting in 1994.
