GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

Jim J. Harrison

High School: Attended Pueblo South H.S., graduating in 1970... Played four seasons (1967-70) as a guard on the Colts basketball team... Named All-Conference two years and selected to Honorable mention All-American (one year)

College: Went to Colorado College (CC) and the University of Southern Colorado (USC)...Leading Scorer (18.7 points per game) on the CC basketball team (as a guard) during the 1970-71 season...Transferred to the USC to play to years (1971-73) on the Indians basketball team as a guard... Helped USC advance to the Regionals in 1972

Coaching Background: Spent 12 years (1977-90) coaching the freshman girls basketball team at Pueblo South H.S... Posted a 147-19 record during that span and a record of 80-1 from 1985-90...Took over the girls varsity basketball coaching duties for the next 16 years beginning in 1991...Won six consecutive league titles and was Co-Champions with Pueblo County H.S. in 1996...League Record from 1991-1996 was 83 win in 84 games.

Coaching Awards: Named 4A "Coach-of-the-Year" three consecutive years (1992-94)...Harrison was the 1994 Colorado "Coach-of-the-Year"

Contributions: As a basketball referee, Harrison served as group President 1987 and several years as an officer... He was a member of Colorado Referees Association for 22 years...Jim worked eight high school state tournaments...Harrison also refereed college games including the Rocky Mountain League Championship game three years in a row...He worked as an high school umpire for five years and was part of the 1991 State Championship game umpiring crew...Harrison was a speaker at high school clinics twice (1989, 1994)

Personal: Lives in Pueblo West, CO with his wife, Jackie.
