GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Gene A. Morenz

College: Attended Southern Colorado State College... Ran indoor and outdoor track for four seasons (1963-67) mainly in the 880 yd event...Morenz still owns the school record in the 880 yard run (1:52) which still stands as of 1995...He was a member of the NCAA Championship mile relay team and named All-American Track and Field in 1967

Coaching Background: Gene was the Head coach at Pueblo South H.S., for the cross country teams (boys - 25 years and girls 19 years)... He also spent 14 seasons (1969-83) as the Colts track and field head coach...Morenz coached  the Boys Track & Field team to 13 consecutive City Championships at South and numerous Cross Country City Championships

Contributor: Morenz started the first running program for the Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department and served as its Summer Running Director.
