GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

Frances Pearl "Fran" Price

College: Attended  Tennessee A&I, playing basketball for two years (1965-67) before transferring to Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo, CO and playing point guard for two seasons starting in 1968... Price graduated from SCSC in 1970.

Coaching Background: Spent 16 years (1971-85) at Rancho H.S., in Las Vegas, NV as the head girls basketball coach and an assistant coach on the volleyball and softball teams...Moved to the college level and coached for two seasons (1985-87) at Texas A&I University in Kingsville, TX... Price returned to Las Vegas where she coached the girls basketball team at Bonanza High School for five years (1987-92).  

Administration: After her coaching career, Price served as the Dean of Students for the following in Las Vegas:            
        Orr Middle School                   1993-96
        Garside Middle School          1996-98        
        Horizon Alternative School    1998-00        
        Rancho High School              2001-03

Achievements: While coaching girls basketball at Rancho H.S.
    Win-Loss Record      302-72;  nine (9) division Championships
    Eight Zone Championships
    One State Championship - 1st Girls State Championship to be held in Girls Athletics (1976-1977)
    Named Southern Nevada Coach of the Year seven (7) times
    One of the most successful Girls Basketball Coaches in Nevada Prep History

Notable Athletes Coached: While coaching at Rancho High School
    Jackie Stevenson played at USC-Pueblo under Coach Jessie Banks
    The late Sandra Dickson at USC-Pueblo and Volleyball
    Curastein (C.J.) Jones at University of Texas under Jodi Conrad’s National Collegiate Championship Team

    First to use multiple offensive strategies (man-on-man trap) as the girls basketball coach at Rancho H.S. in 1970.
    Used the four-corner offenses; multiple-zone press.
Related Activities:
2006-2007 Boys Freshman head basketball coach and Assistant  on the Junior-Varsity teams at Silverado High School, Las Vegas

    Trustee at Resurrection Community Faith Church
    Mentor for at-risk youth in Community Faith Church
    Inducted into the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association’s (NIAA) Hall of Fame

Occupation: Fran was a coach and administrator - Dean of Students in Las Vegas, NV.                          

Personal: Lives in Las Vegas, NV.
