Dr. Tom Muhic

High School:
Attended Pueblo Centennial H.S., graduating in 1952...Played four years of football (1948-51)...Also played for the Bulldogs as the team's shortstop in baseball (1949-52).

Achievements:
Football:
● All-State Quarterback (1951).

College:
Started college at Garden City Junior College (GCJC) in Garden City, Kansas, playing a year at quarterback (1952) and a year at shortstop for GCJC in 1953... Took a break from college and played for a year in the Van Johnson League as a shortstop (1953)...Transferred to Western State College (WSC) in Gunnison, Colorado, where he graduated in 1959...Played two seasons for the Mountaineers baseball team at shortstop (1954-56) and the football team as its quarterback from 1956-58)...Continued his post-graduate studies WSC, graduating with a Masters Degree in 1960... He earned a PhD Degree in 1973 from the University of Utah.

Coaching Career:
● Upon graduation from WSC, was hired as an assistant football coach for two years (1959-60) and freshman basketball coach (1960-61).
● Also the head baseball and swimming coach for the Mountaineers before returning to Pueblo and spending four years (1968-72) as the head baseball coach at Southern Colorado State College.

Administrator:
● Athletic Director, Chairman of the Physical Education Department - Southern Colorado State College.
● Dean of the College of Education - SCSC (1977-78).
● Helped in Transition to University status (1985-86).
● Retired in 1987.
● Served on the Runyon Field Board of Directors.

Occupation:
Worked as a teacher, coach and administrator

Personal:
Lived in Rye, Colorado... Passed away on Aug. 3, 2018.
