GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Dr. Thomas J. "Tom" Muhic

Tom MuhicTom MuhicHigh School: Attended Pueblo Centennial H.S., graduating in 1952...Played four years of football (1948-51) and was an All State Quarterback in 1951... He also played for the Bulldogs as the team's shortstop in baseball (1949-52).

College: Started college at Garden City Junior College (GCJC) in Garden City, Kansas, playing a year at quarterback (1952) and a year at shortstop for GCJC in 1953... He took a break from college and played for a year in the Van Johnson League as a shortstop (1953)...Morenz transferred to Western State College (WSC) in Gunnison, Colorado, where he graduated in 1959...Morenz played two seasons for the Mountaineers baseball team at shortstop (1954-56) and the football team as its quarterback from 1956-58).

Advanced Education:  Continued his post-graduate studies WSC, graduating with a Masters Degree in 1960... He earned a PhD Degree in 1973 from the University of Utah.

Coaching Background: Upon graduation from WSC, Tom was hired as an assistant football coach for two years (1959-60) and freshman basketball coach (1960-61)... Muhic was also the head baseball and swimming coach for the Mountaineers before returning to Pueblo and spending four years (1968-72) as the head baseball coach at Southern Colorado State College.

   Dean of the College of Education - SCSC (1977-78)
   Transition (1985-86)
   Retired in 1987
   Served on the Runyon Field Board of Directors

Occupation:  Dr. Muhic was a Teacher/Coach/Administrator   
Personal: Lived in Rye, Colorado... Passed away on Aug. 3, 2018.
