GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Dr. Albert D. Postestio

High School: Attended Pueblo Central H.S., graduating in 1947...Played center for the Wildcats football team for four years (earning four varsity letters)...Albert was a two-time selection to the First Team of the South Central League (1945-46) and named to the First Team All-State in 1946...Potestio was the team captain his senior season and voted as the school's  Most Outstanding Athlete.

College: Went to the University of Denver he earned a football scholarship and graduated with a BS degree in 1951...Played four years (1947-50) and earned three varsity letters as a lineman on the Pioneers football team...Potestio earned Conference "Lineman of the Week" honors in a game against Arizona.

Advanced Education: Albert continued his post-graduates studies at Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry, earning a D.D.S. degree in 1958.

Military: Potestio served for two years in the Korean War (1951-53).

Contributor: For 23 years Albert and his brother Charles were on the sidelines for every Pueblo Central and South High School game in case of injuries on the playing field...His unselfish dedication, as well as his outstanding sports record at Central and Denver University are the reasons why he deserves a place in the GPSA Hall of Fame.

Occupation:  Dentist  

Personal: Potestio lived in Pueblo with his wife, Norma... He passed away on December 19, 1994.
