GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Curt J."Top Cat" Topping

AAU Years: Two time USWF Kids National Champion (1975-76)...Colorado State Freestyle Champion(1975, 1979)...Colorado State Greco-Roman Champion (1978,1979).. Placed 2nd in National AAU Wrestling Tournament (1977)...US Junior World Tournament Champion Freestyle (1978)...Invited to the US Olympic development camp (1979)...Travelled with the 1978 US Junior World Team that wrestled in Poland, Russia, Czechoslovakia...Member of the 3rd Place 1979 AAA State Tournament Team.

High School: Attended Pueblo South H.S... Four year letterwinner wrestling for the Colts...Four-time East Invite Champion, District Champion and State Qualifier...Two-time State Champion...Posted a career record of 100-8...Holds South High Schools takedowns career record with (406) 1980 to Present (33 years)...Broke the National High School Takedown Record with 216 during his junior year...Topping defeated a defending State Champion each year to win his State Titles...Defeated Chris Mondragon from Wheat Ridge H.S. as a Junior and Duane Goldman from Cheyenne Mountain H.S. as a senior...Goldman's only High School losses were to Topping...Duane was a four time NCAA Finalist.

College: Attended Garden City, Jr. College (GCJC) from 1980-81 and University of Southern Colorado (1983-84)...Curt wrestled at the College level NCAA-Garden City, Kansas and NAIA while attending University of Southern Colorado...Topping was the first Conference Champion at 134 LBS. for the University of Southern Colorado (now CSU-Pueblo) wrestling program.
