Attended the University of Southern Colorado...Played four seasons of baseball for the Indians (1974-78).
Achievements:
● Played on various fastpitch softball teams manning either shortstop of second base for 31 years (1971-2003).
● Made 30 appearances in the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and the International Softball Congress (ISC) World Tournament.
● Selected to the All-World Softball Team (1982).
● Inducted into the Colorado Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame on May 19, 2005.
● Enshrined into the Pueblo Softball Hall of Fame (2010).
● Hired on at Pueblo East H.S. to coach the girls softball team (since 1980) and the girls basketball team (since 2000).
● Softball teams at East High School under Garcia played in four State Championship playoff games and one Final Four playoff.
● The 2004 Girls Basketball Team finsihed runnerup in the state tournament.
● Served as a Past President for basketball officials in the Southeast Region for 10 years (since 1995).
Related Activites:
● Instrumental in getting the Rawling's Girl's Fast pitch League going at CSU-Pueblo.
● Responsible for holding numerous Girl's fast pitch tournaments in Pueblo.
● Has given demonstrations, talks and held clinics for the Colorado High School Coaches Association.

Worked at the Pueblo Chemical Depot for more than 15 years.
