Graduated from ueblo Central H.S. (1967)...Played three seasons at guard on the Wildcats basketball team (1965-67)...Helped Central H.S. to a runner-up finish in the 1965 State Tournament, losing to eventual champion Denver East 66-64 in OT...Three-time All-City, All-State and All-Conference selection (1965-67)...Also ran three years in the Wildcats Cross Country team (1964-67).

Played basketball (guard) for four seasons (1967-71) at Kansas State University (KSU)...Was high scorer on Wildcats 1967 freshman team averaging 28.0 ppg which set a new school record (Freshman not eligible for the varsity squad)...Named team captain during senior year... Graduated from KSU in 1971.

Served nine years as member of Fishers' Youth Basketball Board...Also served as coach and travel league coordinator for the boys team...Served seven years as a member of Fishers' Youth Girls Basketball Board...Coached girls AAU Basketball team to two state championships and runner up finish.
