Attended Pueblo County H.S., graduating in 1983... four-year letterman on both the Hornets cross country and track team (1980-83)...Member of the “1000 Mile” Winter Club (ran 1000 miles months of Nov., Dec., Jan., Feb.).

Went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO (graduated in 1987)... Spent five season on the Mountaineers indoor (1983-88) and outdoor teams (1984-88)...Four year member of the cross country... A Top 7 runner for four seasons on cross country (1983-86).
Coaching:
Spent two seasons (1987-88) at his alma mater, Western State College working with the cross country and track teams...Coached four seasons (1989-92) at the high school level (La Junta) and three more at New Mexico Highlands University... Currently coach professionally for Rocky Mountain Region Joints in Motion (Arthritis Foundation) and Team Diabetes (2003)...Team in Training (Leukemia Society).
