High School:
Attended Pueblo Centennial H.S., graduating in 1963...Played football (lineman) and baseball (outfield) for the Bulldogs for three seasons.

Achievements:
High School:
● Earned All-City, All-Conference, Denver Post All-State, and made the CHSAA All-State Team (1962-63).
● Played on the baseball team that was the South Central champions and was awarded All-City and All-Conference honors.

College:
Went to Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo, CO where he graduated 1967... Played one year of football (1963) as a lineman and two years (1964-65) in the outfield on the Indians baseball squad...Furthered his education at Adams State College in Alamosa, CO and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO.

Coaching Career:
Football:
● Amassed 32 years of total coaching experience in football and baseball.
● Begin his career Coaching American Legion and Babe Ruth Baseball (25 years).
● His teams won five League championships, won the state championships in 1990 coaching 16-year olds and finishing runner-up at state in 1973 and fourth in 1972.
● Career record coaching baseball was 220-199.
● Worked as an assistant football coach at Centennial H.S., for 10 years (1967-77).
● Baseball coaching career started at Pueblo Centennial H.S. where he spent three season (1967-70) as an assistant and then 10 years (1971-81) as the head coach.
● Briefly coached at the college level, spending four years (1981-85) as an assistant coach for the University of Southern Colorado.
● Returned to the H.S. ranks, taking over the baseball program at Pueblo Central H.S. for 13 years (1986-99).
● Led the Wildcats to three consecutive City Championships (1988-90), three State Regional appearances (1988, 1996, 1999), two South Central League Championships (1988, 1999: a three way tie), one Will Rogers League Championship (1990), South Central League runner-up finish (1989), and a District Championship (1999).
● Helped 30 players earn scholarships to play college baseball including John Davis a Pueblo Centennial H.S. product who was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the seventh round as a pitcher in June, 1981. (Davis went on pitch for the Royals, Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres).

● Three-time South Central League "Coach-of-the-Year" (1973, 1987, 1988).
● Boettcher Foundation-Teacher Recognition Award (1992).
● American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Century Club (100 wins in 1992).
● Greater Pueblo Sports Hall of Fame (1995).
● Presented the 30 year Coaching Award by the ABCA (1997).
● Colorado High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) Baseball "Coach-of-the-Year" Award (1997).
● ABCA District VII National Regional "Coach-of-the-Year" Award (1997).
● Centennial High School Athletic Hall of Fame Award (2002).
