Before High School:
Played as an end in football in Bantam League for three season (1954-57) and one year at Keating Junior High (1957)...Lynch also was a first baseman and catch in the Old Timers League at City Park for four years (1954-57)...He played one season of basketball as a guard at Keating Junior High (1957-58).
High School:
Attended Pueblo South H.S., graduating in 1962...Played three season (1959-62) for the Colts football team as a tackle/end and as a forward/post player on the basketball team....Member of the baseball squad for two years (1961-62) playing in the outfield and behind the plate as a catcher...Competed high jump on the track team for a season (1960).
College:
Went to Pueblo Junior College (PJC) for two seasons (1962-64) to play basketball (forward/post) then transferred to Southern Colorado State College where was a member of the Indians basketball squad and played the same position as he did at PJC before graduating in 1966.
After College:
Competed in basketball as a guard for the Armory and many other teams for four years (1954-57) and competed for 14 years in numerous city leagues and tournaments...Had a passion for recreational tennis and softball...Played doubles/mixed teams for 28 years and four seasons (1954-57) of softball during the summer at any position.
Coaching:
Started his coaching career at Air Academy (AA) Junior High in Colorado Springs, where for three seasons (1966-69) he coached the eighth grade football and boys basketball teams...At AA High School, Lynch was a varsity assistant on the football team for nine years (1969-78), the head varsity boy basketball coach twice (1969-72 and 1977-83), the girls basketball coach (1976-77) and the boys golf coach (1970-73).
Contributions:
Taught Physical Education (P.E.) for three year at AA Junior High before taking a position at AA High School as a Science and P.E. for the next 17 years (1969-83)...Worked at AA High School as the school's Assistant Principal (14 years: 1984-99) and the Athletic Director for 16 years (1982-99).
