High School:
Attended Pueblo Central H.S., graduating in 1962...Sal was a four-sport standout, earning eight total varsity letters... He played three years (1959-62) of football at quarterback (QB), two years (1960-62) of basketball as the starting guard and baseball (1959-61) in the outfield and one season of track (1962) as a sprinter.
High School Achievements:
● Led the Wildcats football team to 17 wins in 21 games (three times and one loss).
● Helped the football team to the league, district and state championship where the Wildcats scored a 34-0 win over Lakewood on Dec. 2, 1961.
● Named to the All-City (as a quarterback/safety) and All-Conference teams in 1961 and played in the All-Star game in 1962.
● Averaged 6.9 and 10.8 points per game as a member of the Wildcats basketball team respectively, in 1960 and 1961.
College:
Went to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO where he was a quarterback on the Rams football team for a year (1962-63) before transferring to Southern Colorado State College (now CSU-Pueblo) and played for the Indians at quarterback for a season (1963-64).
Achievements:
Was instrumental in procuring the first computer in the Probation Department of the Fourth Judicial District in Colorado Springs, Colorado...As an innovator, he spearheaded the implementation of the probation Volunteer Program in Colorado Springs, CO, and also introduced the Workout Ltd. Program, which is still serving that community..Both of these programs also had an impact at the state level.

Worked in Colorado Springs at the Zebulon Pike Detention Center with at-risk children.
Personal:
Lived in Colorado Springs, CO... Passed away in November, 2002.
