● Three-sport standout for the Bulldogs, playing and lettering all for years in football (left tackle) and basketball (guard) while also being a member of the track team for two seasons (earning varsity letters both years).
● Elected captain of the football team and made the All-Conference at tackle during his junior and senior years.
● Three-time All-Conference selection in basketball and during his final two seasons (junior and senior year) and was also selected to the All-State team.
● Vice President of his class and the President of "C" Club during his sophomore year.
● Named the President of his class during his junior year.
College:
● Went to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO, where he graduated in 1936.
● Attended the University of Southern California to obtain a M.S. degree in Education, graduated in 1941.
● Went to the University of Colorado to pursue an E.D. Doctor of Education in Administration, graduated in 1952.
● Attended the University of California to work on Post-Doctoral Study "Research Associate", graduated in 1962.

Played three years of football (earning four varsity letters - freshman ineligible for varsity football.) and four years of basketball at guard for the Rams from 1933-36.
Coaching Career:
● Head coach in football, basketball and Track at Pueblo Junior College (PJC) in 1937.
● Instrumental in forming the Inter-Mountain Junior College Conference (All two year colleges in Colorado were included and later Junior colleges in Utah and Kansas were included).
● PJC field its first basketball team in 1937-38 and finished in first place in the eastern division of the Conference.
● The first year of athletics at PJC the program consisted of basketball, golf, tennis and track.
● In 1938, PJC organized its first football team and as coach, finished the season with 2 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties.
● During the second season as basketball coach at PJC, the team won the conference championship with a record of seven wins and three losses, one loss being to Adams State, a senior school.
● The 1939-40 basketball team won the eastern Division of the Inter-Mountain Junior College Conference and for the third straight year the team showing greater strength.
● The second varsity football team he coached finished with a record of 4-2.
● In 1940-41, his basketball team at PJC won the conference championship for the fifth consecutive year and completed the season undefeated in conference play.
● His coaching career came to a close towards the end of the 1941 basketball season when he was called to active duty at the beginning of World War II (WWII).
● Following WWII, he returned to PJC for a few months then resigned to re-enter graduate school.

Lived in Manitou Springs, CO with his wife, Mildred Catherine Bowman...Passed away on January 22, 2001, at age 87.
