GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Donald "Corky" E. Madrid

High School: Attended Pueblo Centennial H.S., graduating in 1963...Lettered and played three years each on the football  (QB and RB), wrestling (120 lbs)  and baseball (shortstop) for the Bulldogs.

H.S. Athletics: (Pueblo Cenlennial H.S.)
Record for most carries; averaged over 7 yards per carry...Most valuable player, Senior Year...Received the Colorado University Gold Helmet Award his Senior Year.

Wrestling: On list of Centennials All Time Wrestling Greats...He qualified at 120 Ibs. at the State Level two years.

Baseball: Madrid was selected by George Simms for Centennials All Time Greats Baseball Player List...had a 357 batting average and was select to All City and All Conference short stop...He was inducted into Centennial's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.

After H.S. Athletics: 
Fast Pitch Softball Independent League 1958-1964 Pueblo, CO...Fast Pitch Softball League from 1964-1974...Played on Walter's Brewery and Pepsi Fast Pitch Softball Teams at the state level every year...Played at the International Fast Pitch Softball Level - Lost one year and won one year.. Inducted into Pueblo's Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame, 2014.

He was a volunteer soccer coach at Centennial and The Pueblo Ranger's Teams during the years his son and daughter were members of the teams. His son's team played at the Premier Level...Corky designed, purchased & developed Soccer Trophies that are presented at 4 crosstown rivalry games and he purchases and presents individual medals to the winning teams.

Community Volunteer: 
Fund Raiser, Pueblo, CO 50 Yrs. Gave advice and assistance on many projects involving other Pueblo School Foundations and Hall of Fame committees.
Centennial H S Foundation Board VP for 3 years; President 20 and counting. This position involves meetings, fundraising, painting bricks and marble slabs, and coordinating all the events and committees...He has served on the Construction, Courtyard and Reunion Committees...He was inducted into Centennial Hall of Fame in 1992.

Aerobic Consultant to Parkview Hospital and health representative for The Pueblo Regional Center (3 years).
Centennial High School girls soccer coach/volunteer 1989 (3 years).
Developmentally Disabled Association Member (5 years).
Old-Timers Bambino Baseball Volunteer coach (13 years).
Pueblo City Parks & Recreation volunteer Youth Coach (10 years).
Pueblo Sun's Fast Pitch softball board (1 year).

Personal Affiliations & Achievements: Corky developed and patented a therapeutic treatment program which has been used nationally, and includes US military.

Related Activities: Corky still serves as President of the Centennial High School Foundation.

Personal: Madrid has lived for 58 years in Pueblo with his wife, Jusitne.
