GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

John LeGrand Klomp

High School: Attended Wesleyville, Pennsylvania H.S., graduating in 1955...Played four years of football (halfback and defensive back) and baseball (pitcher/centerfielder) from 1952-55.
College: Went to Penn State University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1959...Played four years on the football team as a running back (1956-59).
Coaching Background: Begin his coaching career as an assistant football coach for three years (1960-62) at Grant H.S. in VanNuys, Calif... Moved on to become the an assistant baseball coach (1960-62) and the head football coach at Chatsworth H.S. in Chatsworth, Calif (1963-65)...Klomp made his way to Colorado and was hired as the offensive coordinator of the football team at Pueblo County H.S. (PCHS) for three seasons (1966-69) before taking the head coaching duties for the following four seasons (1969-72)...He was also the junior varsity wrestling coach for five years (1966-70) and an assistant track coach with the Hornets for three seasons (1969-71)...Klomp concluded his coaching career, spending three years as an offensive coordinator for the Pueblo Classics from 1991-93.

Contributions: After coaching, Klomp moved to administration, serving for one year (1972-73) as an Assistant Principal at PCHS, before taking over for the next 10 years (1973-83) as the school's Principal...He then worked for 11 years in administration as the Associate Superintendent for School District #70 from 1983-94) and also was the Activities Director for five years (1990-94)...Klomp has served as a committee member for the Pueblo Classics from 1991-94 and the Runyon Field Transition (1993-94).
Occupation: Klomp was a Teacher/Coach/Administrator for School District #70

Personal: Lives in Pueblo, Colorado with his wife, Patricia A... At the time of his nomination, 11 individuals wrote letters of recommendation.
