David R. "Perk" Perkins
David R. PerkinsPrior to High School: Attended Keating Junior High in 1963-64... Perkins was a three-sport standout on football (QB), basketball (guard) and track (sprinter) teams that won the city championship.
High School: Attended Pueblo Central from 1964-67.
Athlete (High School):
Quarterback, 1965 AAA (largest school category) Colorado State Champions...All City & Honorable Mention "All-Conference" during his junior year (1965)...Seventh in scoring in the League...NOTE: Knee Injury curtaileed remaining prep career in three sports (football, basketball and baseball).
Athlete (College):
Recruited for Football and received appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1967...Reinjured during freshman season -- resigned honorably in 1968.
After College:
Softball (fast pitch): Selected to All-Tournament Team at 1970 state tourney in Grand Junction, CO...Softball (slow pitch): Selected to All-Tournament Team at 1978 state tourney in Boulder, CO...Bowling: Achieved 700 Club Member status in 1996

- Selected as a "Bronco Host" Fund Raising Event (Haven Hoses) for 1978 United Way fundraising event.
Personal: Perkins is a life-long Pueblo resident along with his wife Eve (67 years).
