GPSA Meetings

Below are the TENTATIVE meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2022 calendar year. All meeting are held on the third Monday of the month in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Banquet Date/Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2022 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022. Go to the Application tab above to download and fill out an application today.

David R. "Perk" Perkins

David R. PerkinsDavid R. PerkinsPrior to High School: Attended Keating Junior High in 1963-64... Perkins was a three-sport standout on football (QB), basketball (guard) and track (sprinter) teams that won the city championship.

High School: Attended Pueblo Central from 1964-67.

Athlete (High School):
Quarterback, 1965 AAA (largest school category) Colorado State Champions...All City & Honorable Mention "All-Conference" during his junior year (1965)...Seventh in scoring in the League...NOTE: Knee Injury curtaileed remaining prep career in three sports (football, basketball and baseball).

Athlete (College):
Recruited for Football and received appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1967...Reinjured during freshman season -- resigned honorably in 1968.

After College:
Softball (fast pitch): Selected to All-Tournament Team at 1970 state tourney in Grand Junction, CO...Softball (slow pitch): Selected to All-Tournament Team at 1978 state tourney in Boulder, CO...Bowling: Achieved 700 Club Member status in 1996

- Original GPSA Hall of Fame member, Committee (1972)
- Two year member of the National Athletic Scholarship Society (1965-67)
- Served one year as Student Body President, Pueblo Central (1966-67)
- Two-time University of Southern Colorado Athletic "Booster-of-the-Year" (1978-79)
- Served as Treasurer of USC Athletic Booster Association in 1980
- Four-year member of the University of Southern Colorado Athletic Advisory Council (1985-88)
- Past Member of thhe Pueblo Men's Bowling Association Board of Directors (1992-93)
- Selected as a "Bronco Host" Fund Raising Event (Haven Hoses) for 1978 United Way fundraising event.

Personal: Perkins is a life-long Pueblo resident along with his wife Eve (67 years).
