GPSA Meetings

Below is a list of remaining meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2018 calendar year. All meeting held on the third Monday from Jan. to May and Aug. through Nov. in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2018 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 14. Go to the Application Tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Sam F. "Rabbit" Ferraro

High School: Attended Pleasant View H.S., graduating in 1941...Four year (1938-41) letter winner playing catcher on the Lions baseball team...Named All-Conference in 1941 and helped Pleasant View to three team championships.

After High School: Played catcher on the Pueblo VFW, Post 61 softball team for seven years (1946-53)... The team traveled and played more than 100 games per year...Ferraro tried out for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1949...He was named an All American four consecutive years by the American Softball Association (1949-52)... Helped the Pueblo VFW, Post 61 softball team to three consecutive National Championships (1949-51)...Named back-to-back Most Valuable Player at the National Tournament (1951-52).

Occupation:  Retired after 40 years at the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad

Personal: Lives in Pueblo with his wife, Alene.
