GPSA Meetings

Below is a list of remaining meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2018 calendar year. All meeting held on the third Monday from Jan. to May and Aug. through Nov. in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2018 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 14. Go to the Application Tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Roger G. Samuels

Official: Roger worked as a football and basketball official in the South Central League - football (33 years) and basketball (25 years) as well as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference - Basketball (12 years) and football (eight years).

Coaching Background: Samuels was a basketball coach at Corwin Middle School for 11 seasons (1984-94) and three years in the City Men’s League (1992-94)

    Official - Has officiated many play-off games across the state . 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A,and 2A Championship games.
    President of the High School Officials Group - 2 terms - 4 years.
    Executive board member for 8 terms - 16 years.
    South Central League - State High School Football/Basketball.
    Head Referee (white hat) for many Bell games.
    Managed the fields for the Slow-pitch League for the City of Pueblo for six years (1990-95).
    Since 1990, worked with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a middle school sponsor and board member .
    Recognized as "Person of the Year" for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
    Organized a men's golf league on Wednesdays at Walking Stick Golf course while working there one day a week.
        - He volunteered to "help out" in the snack shack and at the clubhouse when needed.

Occupation: Samuels was an official and also taught Physical Education in Pueblo School District at both Ben Franklin Elementary and Corwin Middle School for a total of 37 years, impacting the lives of over 10,000 students...He was consistently active in after school activities and sport with students of all ages.

Personal: Lives in Pueblo with his wife, Kathy.
