GPSA Meetings

Below is a list of remaining meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2018 calendar year. All meeting held on the third Monday from Jan. to May and Aug. through Nov. in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Application Deadline

The deadline for nominations each year is Aug. 1.  The 2018 Banquet is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 14. Go to the Application Tab above to download and fill out an application today.

Phyllis Long

High School: Attended Canon City H.S....She was a military sponsor, first runner-up in the Canon City Rodeo Queen Pageant and a member of the Rainbow Girls' Organization....Long was a top ranking student, graduating 7th in her class.

Accomplishments: Phyllis became a recognized sportsman in Archery having participated in the sport since 1963...She won the national Women's Professional indoor title in 1986...Long has won 40 Colorado State Archery Association Crowns and 11 overall Championships...With the National Field Archery Assoc. (NFAA), Phyllis won three Southwest Sectional titles for both indoors and outdoors.  The Rocky Mountain Archery Association (RMAA) and the Pioneer Bowman Club of Pueblo (PBCP) has each awarded her 18 pro crowns...She has served in various capacities in the PBCP including as the clubs' president.

Personal: Lives in Pueblo with her husband, Merlin where they have lived since 1951 and raised four children...Long is an active member in her church and the YMCA.
