GPSA Meetings

Below is a list of remaining meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2017 calendar year. All meeting held on the third Monday from Jan. to May and Aug. through Nov. in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Fred F. Smith

High School: Attended Central High School in St. Joseph, MO, graduating in 1933...Earned seven (7) varsity letters.
    Football:         2 letters - All City
    Basketball:    3 letters - All City & All Missouri Valley Conference
    Track:              2 letters - Held the Quarter Mile Record for 52 years (50.9)

College: Went to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO and graduated in 1937...Smith was an All-Conference selection in football and basketball, earning three and four varsity letters, respectively...Fred also played on the Bears baseball team where he lettered four times.

Advanced Education: Continued his post-graduate studies at Colorado College earning a Masters Degree in 1960.

Official: Fred was a football, basketball, baseball and track official in High School and College for 30 years.

Youth Programs: Smith was involved with the YMCA and Camp Crockett for 10 years.

Occupation: Fred was a Teacher/Coach/Administrator - Junior High Principal and Assistant Superintendent.

Personal: Fred lived in Pueblo with his wife, Mary Kathryn...He passed away on December 8, 1987.
