GPSA Meetings

Below is a list of remaining meetings dates for the GPSA during the 2017 calendar year. All meeting held on the third Monday from Jan. to May and Aug. through Nov. in the GPSA at Massari Arena. Dates are subject to change if necessary.

Dr. Donald G. "Don" Stutters

High School: Attended Watonga H.S., in Watonga, OK, graduating in 1950...Played four years of football (1946-49), basketball (1947-50) and baseball (1947-50) for the Eagles...On the gridiron, Don earned All-Conference during both his junior and senior year and was selected to the All-State team his senior season.., In baseball, Stutters was an All-Conference selection his senior year. During the summer months in high school (1946-49), Don played on the American Legion baseball squad... He was the team's leading hitter (.538 batting average in 1948) and was twice named to the All-American Legion Tournament Team (1948-49)

College: Began his collegiate career at Midwestern University (MU) in Wichita Falls, TX, (1950-52) where Stutters played both football and basketball...He left MU to attend Southwestern State College (SWSC) in Weatherford, OK, where as a football player he received Honorable Mention All-Conference his junior year and All-Conference his senior season...Don also was a participant in basketball and baseball at SWSC..He graduated in 1954.

Advanced Education:  Earned a Masters Degree from Southwestern University in 1958 and a Doctorate Degree on 1968 from the University of Colorado in Boulder CO.

Honors: Stutters received the 1979 Red Cross “Certificate of Merit” (Highest Award given by the Red Cross) signed by President Nixon...Award was for First Aid given to a football player struck by lightning during practice.

        Secretary 1992-96

Other Activities: Don organizes Athletic Reunions and Golf Tournaments.

Occupation: Stutters was a Teacher/Coach... He retired in 1991 after 31 years service to the College

Personal: Lives in Pueblo with his wife, Sandra.
